The ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) practice examination assesses foundational cybersecurity knowledge suitable for newcomers, career changers, students, and professionals entering junior cybersecurity roles without prior direct work experience.

The current examination covers five domains: Security Principles, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Incident Response Concepts, Access Controls Concepts, Network Security, and Security Operations.

The official CC exam uses Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT), lasts two hours, contains 100–125 multiple-choice and advanced item types, requires a scaled score of 700 out of 1,000, and is delivered in person at Pearson VUE testing centers. Available languages are English, Chinese, Japanese, German, and Spanish.

Outline transition notice: This syllabus is aligned to the current exam outline effective October 1, 2025. ISC2 states that a new CC exam outline becomes effective on September 1, 2026. Revalidate this document before use for examinations scheduled on or after that date.
