Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104)

Cloud Administration
The AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator practice examination is designed to assess candidates' subject matter expertise in implementing, managing, and monitoring an organization's Microsoft Azure environment, including virtual networks, storage, compute, identity, security, and governance.
The examination covers important areas such as Manage Azure Identities and Governance, Implement and Manage Storage, Deploy and Manage Azure Compute Resources, Implement and Manage Virtual Networking, and Monitor and Maintain Azure Resources.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate accurate recall of Microsoft Entra ID, Azure RBAC, and governance terminology, hands-on fluency with storage configuration, ARM template/Bicep-based deployment, virtual machine and container management, and virtual networking, and a working understanding of monitoring, alerting, backup, and disaster recovery practices.
This is an original practice examination developed for learning, revision, preparation, and self-assessment purposes. It is not an official Microsoft examination paper unless explicitly authorised by the exam owner, and it does not reproduce official Microsoft exam questions.
Note on currency: Microsoft updated the AZ-104 skills-measured outline on April 17, 2026 — this is a very recent update. While the five core domains and their weightings are unchanged from the prior version, several functional groups received content updates (marked "Minor" changes by Microsoft), and the exam has fully adopted Microsoft Entra ID naming throughout (rather than the legacy "Azure Active Directory" term). This syllabus is built entirely from the current, post-April-2026 skills outline, fetched directly from Microsoft Learn.
