Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I

Software Development

The Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I practice examination is designed to assess candidates' ability to use the fundamental programmatic and declarative capabilities of the Lightning Platform to develop custom business logic and interfaces, using Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Components.

The examination covers important areas such as Salesforce Fundamentals, Data Modeling and Management, Logic and Process Automation, User Interface, Testing, and Debug and Deployment Tools.

Candidates are expected to demonstrate accurate recall of platform architecture and data modeling concepts, hands-on fluency with Apex syntax, SOQL/SOSL/DML, triggers, and governor limits, sound judgement in choosing declarative versus programmatic solutions, and a working understanding of testing requirements and deployment tooling.

This is an original practice examination developed for learning, revision, preparation, and self-assessment purposes. It is not an official Salesforce examination paper unless explicitly authorised by the exam owner, and it does not reproduce official Salesforce exam questions.

Note on currency: Salesforce updates this exam's content alignment with each major platform release (Spring/Summer/Winter). The six domain names and their relative weighting have remained stable across releases for years and are independently corroborated by Salesforce's own exam guide alongside multiple current 2025–2026 study sources. Always verify the current release alignment and any minor objective wording changes on Salesforce's official certification page before your exam date.
