CompTIA Linux+ (XK0-006)

The CompTIA Linux+ (XK0-006) practice examination is designed to assess candidates' ability to configure, manage, operate, and troubleshoot Linux server environments while using security best practices, scripting, containerization, virtualization, and automation, in on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments. The examination covers important areas such as System Management , Services and User Management , Security , Automation, Orchestration, and Scripting , and Troubleshooting . Candidates are expected to demonstrate accurate command-line fluency, sound judgement in selecting appropriate tools and configurations for described Linux administration scenarios, and a working understanding of security hardening, automation practices, and structured troubleshooting. This is an original practice examination developed for learning, revision, preparation, and self-assessment purposes. It is not an official CompTIA examination paper unless explicitly authorised by the exam owner, and it does not reproduce official CompTIA exam questions. Note on currency: XK0-006 (Version 8) is the current Linux+ exam, launched July 2025, replacing XK0-005 which retired January 13, 2026. This syllabus reflects the current V8 objectives.
